A French Press or plunger pot is an often-underrated method of brewing coffee. It is a simple, inexpensive and reliable way to make a great, full-bodied cup of coffee.Use a ratio of coffee to water of 1:16 to 1:18.
Step 1: Preheat the walls of your French press with hot water. Dump out the water.
Step 2: Weigh and measure your coffee according to the number of servings you desire. Grind the coffee coarse like bread crumb.
Step 3: Place the French press on your scale, add ground coffee and tare (clear) scale.
Step 4: When your kettle has boiled, remove from heat for 30 – 40 seconds. Pour recently boiled water over coffee.
Step 5: Place the plunger in the pot and press down until the bloom is just submerged.
Step 6: After 4 minutes (no longer than 6mins), plunge slowly and gently, and serve immediately.
Pour into the cup and enjoy!
Note – Leaving the coffee in the french press for longer time will make it more stronger.
